TRON: Legacy | Takeover and Redesign Reveal

In conjunction with the release of Disney’s TRON: LEGACY film we collaborated to find ways to engage both our teen and adult male audiences with the brand in fun engaging ways. Two concepts emerged, a redesign takeover and an “Enter the Grid” upload-your-photo experience.

Takeover Overlay

To promote the forthcoming redesign of TeenSpot, we proposed an interactive idea which utilized provided assets to create a 3D environment in which the old TeenSpot website was completely immersed in the world of TRON: LEGACY. But it was time for an upgrade and the site was ready to transform with an impactful animation.

After the website flashed into its TRON style, it was quickly destroyed by some daring Light Cycles racing through the grid. We briefly join the Light Cycle riders who lead us to a beacon of light that opens up on the distance and eventually reveals the brand new re-designed website. In the site’s new logo was a a TRON: LEGACY life disc giving new life to the site and its redesign.

Enter the Grid Experience

“Entering the grid” was an important component to the marketing for the film and we pitched an idea that would allow CraveOnline users to upload a photo of themselves and have it integrated into the TRON: LEGACY marketing artwork including posters and shareable postcard images.
